How Do Courier Services Price a Delivery?

According to the Atlanta Courier services, there are several different charges that you should be aware of when dealing with any courier service. The first price you should take into account is the most basic, the base price. This number is the price that you charge for deliveries within your base area. Most courier services in Atlanta will use a twenty five mile radius to determine the area around their base location. This price is very important as a majority of courier business is going to be conducted here. Having either too high or too low of a price could have a major effect on business.
The next most common charge, according to the Atlanta Courier service, is how much you charge per mile. Again, this one is key because it ultimately will determine if you’re making a profit or not. Charge too much per mile and you’re not going to get enough business to make a profit, but if you don’t charge enough then you’re going to be facing problems when it comes to gas prices and the like.
While these are the two major charges, there are a number of smaller ones that need to be taken into account. These can include a variety of things such as after hour courier services, additional manpower for some of the larger jobs, fuel charge services, and additional weight charges, wait time etc. Unfortunately, not every courier is going to have the exact same set of charges, or even the same stipulations for each of these charges. One company may charge more for every fifty pounds about their standard limit while another may charge per twenty five pounds.
With all of these charges there is likely to be a huge concern about courier services hiding hidden fees making you question if you’re finding a good deal or not. After all, nobody wants to deal with the possibility of having to pay an extra twenty dollars because they didn’t know about holiday charges or some other obscure type of charge. Fortunately couriersare required to list all of their surcharges to insure this won’t be happening. If you are ever dealing with a courier service that doesn’t tell you all the charges, then you’re very likely to be scammed. Of course any company that has been around for more than a few months is likely enough to be legit. A little research into the service provider will usually be more than enough for you to find which one is going to be in your price range.
